Swallows, harmony of pop and science, halls full of people, concentrated as well as relaxed audience, wild punk from Astronautalis, icebergs that do not melt, LOVE/HATE conflict, and last, but not least, the unique genius loci of beautiful Olomouc.

Magical Egypt, mysterious pyramids, and the newest discoveries of our most prominent archaeologists. Such topics will be discussed at the next traditional Science Café, which will host one of the best Czech archaeologists Miroslav Verner. His presentation will take place on Tuesday, 28th May at 6 p. m. in Olomouc in the café Mezi Světy.

8 intensive programme blocks, over 100 film projections at 8 places, 19 films in the international and 15 films in the Czech competition, 160 foreign and Czech festival guests and 3,715 accredited visitors. These are the numbers that characterize the 48th International Festival of Science Documentary Films Academia Film Olomouc (AFO), which ended on Sunday, 21st April 2013.

The diversity of the topics in the festival blocks reflected in the final awarding ceremony. It can be said that despite the fact that the juries chose films showing problems of the contemporary society, in the end optimism won.

The music programme of AFO48 culminates at Parkan (Konvikt) tonight. Here, Charles Andrew Bothwell alias indie rapper Astronautalis will launch his European tour. The final concert of the festival starts at 10 p. m.

The festival Saturday will belong to women in science, to the colours of mathematics, the story of potatoes and the taste of waste. It is even possible that before the day is over, you will even forgive infidelity.
